JUDGE JONATHAN D. GERBER BECOMES FOURTH DCA CHIEF JUDGE

Judge Jonathan D. Gerber has begun his service as Chief Judge of the Fourth District Court of Appeal after unanimous election by his colleagues.  He will serve a two-year term.

As Chief Judge, Judge Gerber will oversee all administrative matters in the court.  Judge Gerber also will continue to oversee the construction of the Fourth District Court of Appeal’s new courthouse in downtown West Palm Beach.  The new courthouse remains on schedule for completion in early 2018.

Judge Gerber has served on the Fourth District Court of Appeal since 2009.  From 2004 to 2009, he served as a Circuit Court Judge for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit.  From 2002 to 2004, he served as a County Court Judge for Palm Beach County.  From 1993 to 2002, he worked in private practice in Palm Beach County.

Judge Gerber received his law degree, with Honors, from the University of Florida College of Law in 1993.  He received his undergraduate degree, with Honors, from Princeton University in 1990.
